Cap dumps have negative value. These are hopeful proposals

A 50 point scorer who plays Pk and all forward positions is not a cap dump in any way, shape, or form

Toronto should keep him then. Oh wait, they need to dump his cap hit to make space for other moves.

Ok? Every team in the league moves salary to make other moves. That doesn’t make them worth nothing. A negative cap dump value is when the player is traded with an asset because their contract is worth more than what they provide. Kasperi Kapanen was traded 2 years ago as a cap dump to clear space for us in FA, and he fetched us a 1st + prospect

Nah, that was trading a guy because they couldn't afford him. Kerfoot and Holl are dumps that they don't want anymore because they're not worth the cap they're taking up in Toronto.

That makes no sense. Are you telling me no team in the league is gonna give anything up for the 50 point scorer Alexander Kerfoot

Doubtful. Leafs are leveraged and getting 50 points as a 2nd/3rd liner in Toronto isn't all that impressive. Players like that are a dime a dozen.
