I think Los Angeles declines, even though Marchand is a great player. Too much future going away.

Trading all of that for Pastrnak with or without extension would be the wrong approach for the Devils.
They would be way better off long term adding to their young core.
Seriously hoping they aren't looking to move Holtz or the #2 pick.

How you do figure? Pastrnak is star player, one of the top goal scorers in the league and is only 26. He's exactly the type of player the Devils need. Plus your not even giving up any roster players in this scenario.

Let's not overrate these prospects, Holtz and Shakir have done nothing in this league. If Pasta signs an extension, I'd be happy to trade the 2oa and a top prospect, not named Hughes to get him.
