MTL is in no position to give up 3 1st round picks (including a 1 OA pick) for a soon-to-be 37 years-old Ovechkin.

I can’t imagine the pressure that would come from being one of the first round picks in an Ovechkin return lol.

Feel like Carlson/Orlov with retention could command a king’s ransom in a trade.

With a lottery protection added to the 2023 1st and an extension in place with Orlov the Isles would probably bite on that
