Bruins-Ducks Big Trade

Created by: bruinsdude77
Team: 2017-18 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: May 5, 2017
Published: May 5, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Ducks are flying high right now and have as good a chance as any team remaining to win the Cup. However, the off-season that lies ahead will be difficult. Regardless of whether Kevin Bieksa waives his no-movement clause or not, the Ducks seem likely to lose a good, young defenseman unless they are willing to offer up Jakob Silfverberg instead. The most likely casualty is physical two-way defender Josh Manson. Anaheim has young defensive depth they can plug in (Theodore, Montour) but no one who brings a similar game to Manson. The Ducks also need to work on a bottom-six that is largely ineffective. Who can fill those two needs? The Boston Bruins, who themselves need a top pair lefty. The Ducks have two of those in Lindholm and Fowler, but only one is signed long-term. In exchange for Fowler, the Bruins provide tough D in SoCal native Kevan Miller and a play-maker in Spooner who can center the Ducks' second or third line and help on the power play. A great deal for both really.

I don't think Anaheim does that.

No Chance they take that deal for Fowler. Pastrnak for Fowler/pick or JFK/picks for Fowler is more realistic.

Well, if we can rip Anaheim off that bad I'm all for it. Pretty sure even 1 year of Fowler is worth way more than Kevan and Spooner. If they agree to it, then it's their fault not ours.

Yeah Kevan Miller+Spooner was proposed on the Hockey Futures board for Fowler and the answer was no, It would take Pastrnak rather easily to get Fowler out of Anaheim.

Pastrnak for an impending UFA? Realistic? I just threw up in my mouth.

That being said, the trade above is not enough for Fowler.

Well yeah with Pastrnak involved it would need to be a sign and trade deal for Cam Fowler, Kevan Miller and Spooner would be a joke for a D man of Fowlers caliber.

Why would Vegas want Subban, an average AHL goalie when so many good goalies are available. And why would this wait money on Hayes.

I think they could take Subban. He's been solid in the AHL, just not as good as McIntyre. Subban is stronger and more athletic, but he hasn't found his game. However I don't see how they draft Hayes in order to take Subban, They just take Subban and say Eff You to Jimmy. No-one wants Hayes at this point.

Not enough for Fowler. Vegas would just take Subban in the draft and tell you to keep Hayes.
