A Possible line up The trades are for fun all are unlikely to to take place

Description
All for fun, GM and Coach for a day.

This past year, with Skinner and Tuch on his wing Cozens was on the ice for 7 goals with none scored against him.

Last season the line of Asplund-Mittelstadt-Thompson was by far the best the Sabres had to offer
I put it back together expecting it to be better next year.

Olofsson-Krebs-Quinn could be a really good third line.

Ruotsalainen excelled in the AHL playoff, with Girgensons and Okposo on his wing, I would expect more of the same.

Your rationale on the top two lines is spot on, but that leaves a third line that will get absolutely crushed without the puck. Krebs was awful in the nhl last year (esp defensively). That line is much better off with a winger thats defensively strong without sacrificing offense (like asplund) which is what I expect olofsson to get moved for.

Other than that the moves are fine, but you have this team taking on way too much salary. Subban at 4 years is way too much imo. If they get him it'll probably be a 2 year deal thats back-loaded.

He's making 2.75 for 2 years, and his offensive numbers last year were close to Rasmus asplunds, who is a very good defensive player with limited offense, except asplund is making 1/3 the salary. I didn't make the op, I would think teams aren't clamoring for guys like foegele, or at least their contracts. So the oilers move back a dozen spots and get some cap space for 2 years. I actually don't think the Sabres would do it, adams has said he doesn't wanna block the kids, and 5.5m seems like a lot to move up from 41 to 29.

Thanks for your comments, all very constructive.

I will put my trust in Granato to find the best line up.
This is just one idea to balance the scoring.
Olofsson and Krebs did not work well last year, not likely to work this year.

why is foegele being dumped You are most likely correct, he is over paid compared to his performance. I just took a post by an Oiler fan and tried to get more first round picks./quote]

I agree. Krebs with Olofsson last year was not awful but embarrassingly bad (3 GF and 14 GA when they were together). I was hoping no one would notice LOL. Probably too much for Subban, but I think if paired with Dahlin could se a solid RHD.

Oilers shouldn’t be trading foegle Unlikely trade, just my wishful dream.

When I saw the Sabres picked up Bishop I presumed it was a signal that the Sabres would continue to rebuild this year.
When I watch the Stanley cup action, it is obvious they would need two RHD BETTER than Jokiharju, a much better GK than Anderson and all players younger than 24 to have career years.

Not a chance Edmonton does that. Foegele is pretty much exactly as advertised - big fast forechecker who will chip in 10-15 goals at even strength while being decent defensively. He's not a cap dump.
