I don’t dislike this, but Z and Risto are not really great and if Ellis goes down again we suck… again lol

Hawks are rebuilding so Lindblom wouldn't make much sense because he'll likely be around 30 when the hawks are competitive again, but the 5th overall pick isn't bad to start with. A lot of Devils fans have proposed 2nd overall and Holtz, so the value would have to come up to outbid them depending on how bad you would want DeBrincat.

Ultimately, this is a deal they make if they truly believe Ellis is healthy. If they're leaning towards Ellis being done then they should maybe only make the JVR move and try to grow as much as they can. Maybe take advantage of a team trying to make a cap dump and acquire a good defenseman like Trouba for cheap if that's possible.

I'd like to think they're better positioned if Ellis were to get hurt though too. York is likely to be much better next season and he'll slide to RD. Attard looks like a capable 3rd pair D once he settled down. Zamula can be called up as well for long term 3rd pair duties. Seeler hopefully is only a short term injury #7 defenseman so Zamula gets more work in the AHL.

Lindblom is a young NHL player for the Hawks roster. I'm not sure he's a big piece in this move. I would say #5 overall and Brink are the big pieces.

Ah ok, I honestly don't know much about Brink. I know Lindblom is still young, but the hawks likely wont be good until he's old like I said. It's about the future. Personally I'm a fan of Lindblom, but I would rather have a draft pick or prospect if I'm the hawks. Overall it's not a bad offer value wise, but in comparison to the offers Devils fans have been making, I don't think the hawks would want to do it.

Well if you're being offered a #2 overall pick and a former #7 overall pick it's kind of tough for any team to match that. Nor should they want to. Given the excitement over a current #2 overall pick. A Devils' fan wanting to include that with a recent #7 overall pick says a lot about what they think about Holtz in my opinion.

That's what I mean, I'm surprised they're offering it and I don't think anybody will match it. I think it says a lot about their desparation to want to win now rather than Holtz, but yeah, I see your point.

I don't think it matches someone like the Devils giving up Holtz and the #2OA personally.

I agree, it doesn't. Now 5th overall, Tippett, and a conditional 2024 2nd that becomes a first if the Flyers make the playoffs in 2024 could be close to matching.
