    Additional Details:
I think Kerfoot pushes this deal over the top, might be a slight overpay from Toronto given how promising Knies is and how average Gibson has been for 3 years but if you're the leafs you're betting in a return to form. Anaheim can really stock the cupboards with this haul and get a cost-controlled roster player in Kerfoot in exchange for taking Mrazek

How exactly does Kerfoot push the deal over the top? He's signed for 1 year, which is a season where the Ducks clearly won't be contending.

Kerfoot just put up 50 points on a great contract. In what way does he push it under water? Mrazek 100% agree but come on... good team or not, Kerfoot still put up points moving throughout the lineup.

Kerfoot is a rental. By definition, any rental involved in a trade for players with 4 and 5 years' term is a throw-in. He pushes the deal under the surface because he's nowhere near the value of Comtois. Take Comtois out and I wouldn't say Kerfoot pushes the deal under water, just Mrazek.

Lol what a stupid arguement. Really? Any rental is a throw in no matter what if there is a long term deal involved? So if Matthews had a year left on his deal and was being traded for Dahlin with 3 years left would Matthews be a throw in?

So the ducks just want to ice a team of scrubs forever?

Only you would construe my comment as equating Kerfoot with Matthews.

Once again, Yes, bottom-6 rental forwards are throw-ins in deals involving players with 4 or 5 years' term. That's how hockey works.

Does 1 year of Kerfoot change the outcome in Anaheim?

For one year. Heck, if I was a contending team I’d be all over him, which begs the question of why Leafers have such a hard on to move him.

    Rental to contender-good.
Rental to rebuilding team-Very, very dumb.
