Islanders back to winning

Created by: Barzal13Dobson8
Team: 2022-23 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 15, 2022
Published: Jun. 15, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This team somewhat depends on Stanley cup final. If Avs lose they will look to improve in goal. A reunion with Varly just makes sense. As for Isles, they need to get better offensively and this is going all in on DeBrincat whom I think is worth it.

Not the return Seattle will be looking for if they trade Dunn.

DeBrincat is a great player but given up that many pieces cannot be done.

If he is moved and I doubt he is it will be to a team with an elite piece they are willing to move, for the isles it would be Dobson which the isles should not do.

Easy no for the Avs. Kuemper & Francouz will be just fine. Varly isn't an upgrade especially for one year.

Thats a lot for CAT and we would have to take that but its an awful lot for NYI to give up.

DeBrincat won’t cost more than Jack Eichel, please. This is always the case when elite players come available.

Anthony Beauvillier = Alex Tuch
Oliver Wahlström = Peyton Krebs
2022 1st (13) = 2022 1st (16) (this pick was projected to be in the late 20s, early 30s for sure btw).
Aatu Räty = 2023 2nd
2023 1st

Vegas even got a 3rd rounder with Eichel.

Eichel is better when healthy + center and has a greater reputation, in no world will DeBrincat cost more.

I get all this. And you’re right isles should not trade Dobson. But Chicago if the decide to move Cat they aren’t getting a big time player back for next year. It’s adding picks and young pieces to get the rebuild going. In fact I’d bet if cat is traded the other cornerstone players ie Kane, Toews, kubalik, strome could all also be loved or will want to.

DeBrincat to the isles would definitely cost as much or more. Isles if they want him will have to overpay due to the limited available prospects and skilled players they can trade. And imho they should. He’s still 24 and can be on Barzals wing for
The foreseeable future. It’s a piece they’ve needed for a long time.

Dobson would not make sense to be included. If CHI trades DeB, why would they want another RFA player that is going to need a large contract soon.

Easy no from the Isles. JT doesnt fit in the lineup (even with the other deals that have been made). And Varly can bring back a 2nd round pick on his own (maybe a 1st).

Probably so. However JT could bring back a second as well on his own, and that's far more likely than this trade.
