I'm thinking this trade goes to through to get a veteran presence on the Detroit blue line. Just about all their veteran defenseman are scratches or depth pieces. Adding a capable blueline vet may help Seider/Hronek and the team.

Take out Zadina and the 3rd and Detroit accepts, Alec Martinez is coming off a serious eye injury he holds nowhere close to that kind of value. And Vegas is no position to being able to call any shots.

Seemed that Spencer Martin/DiPietro weren't quite ready and Halak is on the last year of the contract. This is in the case that he doesn't resign or he retires. Gonna need a cheap back-up for Demko.
