This is a bad trade, given Kane is a rental. He’s not in his 20s anymore. He may be great but I’m not comfortable giving up that much for a 1 year rental and someone well informed their 30s.

A lot of talk about Kane being a rental, he doesn't have to be a rental. We can retain on this years cap and have a new deal worked out that would be inclusive of a proposed move. Obviously this increases the value but him for just a year also comes with significant value. He is the greatest US born hockey player to grace the sport and the marketability alone would be a massive incentive let alone the improvement and mentoring he can bring to a young NYR with aspirations for a cup.
