I posted this in another thread. Both fanbases are sniping at each other with these pointless ACGM's and just needs to take a breath instead of getting all worked up over local media speculation.

It's basically the same 5 Habs fans here posting different versions of the same unrealistic trade. They don't speak for the fanbase. Anderson's a good player, but he doesn't get you 2OA and MTL doesn't seem to be a match for a NJD trade.

The chatter was that Habs were fielding calls for Anderson, but they weren't shopping him. Hughes reportedly asking more than market value is par for the course for any GM who doesn't necessarily want to trade a player he considers important to his club. If you or I were GM's in this situation, we'd say/do the same thing.

For what it's worth, I don't believe NJD will trade the 2OA. It hasn't been done in the cap era and probably won't happen this year. What Fitz said about listening to calls is just more GM-speak, same as Hughes.

Let's just move on and quit nitpicking and insulting one another. You guys have lots of high-end talent on the roster and should be fun and competitive for a long time. Enjoy it and don't listen/assume that a handful of ppl on a website speak for a whole city.

MTL see's more value in #5 OA pick

Slappy is good but we were only wanting 2nd OA if NJD was willing to step up and trade to get Wright
You guys seem to be fine and not interested in Hughes/Wright long term

If we were just trading for an extra pick its far easier to upgrade CGY pick for one of CBJ or OTT
I mean it wont be Easy but deffinatly easier then getting the 2nd OA pick

Both LD are playing for the same position at the same level among some already good LD depth behind Romanov and Harris ahead of Trudeau,Struble and Norlinder

Even then its hard to justify for Slappy who's great but a 1 dimensional power forward like Armia was before WPG developed him but a better scorer
We're good even though he would be ideal beside Suzuki-Caufield everything would ride on them having Chemistry together so pass on that as Caufield only clicks with 3 guys maybe

Thus far our teams needs seem to be the same so this is a conflicting trade idea aswell

see i think that the only reason why MTL should go for 2OA is to find a winger to play with suzuki and caufield. trade caufield for 2OA and you've taken a step backwards... you still have suzuki with a very skilled winger, but your winger now isnt developed, and needs conditioning time

U don’t have the pieces to get 2OA wo Caufield involved. If u really want Slaf, Hughes should take him at 1. I’d be fine with Wright, he’d have to convert to wing
