Initial Creation Date: Jun. 19, 2022
Published: Jun. 20, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This seems like the most likely course Fletcher takes this year. He's stated that he wants an offseason similar to when the Flyers signed Hayes/Niskanen, so a signing of Kadri and Gudbranson to move around the depth chart seem accurate. I highly doubt whoever is picked at 5 will play this season, and I doubt even more they'll trade it.

I think the Coyotes would ask for more to take JVR's contract, he's getting paid a ton.

Don't think Kadri makes much sense here. look how much money is down the middle, if they trade JVR I think they'd want a winger more, or maybe a defenseman, but they have Risto and Ellis. Man, Philley is in a bad situation rn lmao.

By trading Little, they wouldnt be spending anymore money in actual salary this season, and can get more assets by trading at the deadline. They also save an extra year since Little goes 2 more seasons, netting an overall savings of around 8ish million in actual money. For a team with financial struggles such as Arizona, it could be tempting.

That doesn't save Arizona any money, it cost them more. Little's contract is fully insured

I really don't think Gaudreau or Forsberg leave, or I would've done one of them. Flyers ownership is incredibly desperate for a win of an offseason, so they're going to overpay for a big name. Definitely hate the price tag, but I do find it appealing to have a that center depth.

As for Ellis, if he's healthy, he's a real good dman. People hate on Risto an unreal amount, I think he's whatever. Not worth 5 mil, but I never thought he was as bad as all stats and people on the internet say.

Overall, a maybe wildcard team, but with the contracts that are already here, p much have to just go for it.

Yeah, I just mean it is going to be an interesting and uncertain team. The d core is worry some if Ellis can be back good and if they others can perform, you need Hart to be good or it's going to be ugly, and while it may be good to have C depth, they are paying almost 30 mil just to their centers, and I don't think they paid Laughton that kind of money and term to be a 4th line center. I think it's a really bad decision for Philley to try and win now in a stacked East, but if do try and make win now moves, I think Palat, Nuch, Burakovsky, or maybe a sign and trade with Fiala would be good moves, while this is unlikley maybe they do something to get Necas off of Carolina like Caroliana did with Kotkaniemi.
