Is this a fair trade

Description
I Understand the Value in terms of Players is heavily skewed in Washington's favor, however. Florida will have over 15 Million tied in a Backup goalie and 3rd line center in a year or So once Knight and Lundell take over and those are issues they really want to avoid especially as they are already against the cap this offseason.

Trades

  1. Bennett, Sam
  2. Bobrovsky, Sergei ($4,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Florida gets much needed cap room and moves out of the Bobrivsky contract. Secondly despite how good Bennett has been, Lundell is ready and capping him at the 3C hurts his development especially as he has shown he is ready for a big role. Washington soles its goaltending problem and 2C issue with Backy out. Picks and prospects might need to get thrown around but honestly, I think the basis of this is pretty fair

I think Florida would be open to that.

When Wilson comes back, having a line with him and Bennett on it would be a tough line to play against haha

I think its pretty awful for Florida. Even if they want to move Bobrovsky, him at 6.5 mil plus Bennett for a veteran C they don't need and a goalie like Vanecek doesn't make a ton of sense.

Yeah Im asking I do think Florida needs to move them however because it will be pretty difficult to Extend Huberdeau & Weager next Summer, Lundell soon after, and if they want to keep Marchment, Giroux, Lousterinin, Mamin and others this summer they will be struggling for room. Maybe they retain less or more on Bob, the issue is he has a NMC and you also dont want to pay your 3C in Bennett that much

The caps could very easily move eller and vanacek on for a third rounder each, and probably will do so this summer. They would then be taking on 10.4m in cap space between Bennet and Bob. That is enough to get Forbserg, or with only 1 other move like dumping Hagelin, Gaudreau. Would you rather have Bennet and Bob or Gaudreau? This is not at all awful for Florida, and absolute minimum the caps should be getting back to take bob.

Bobrovksy was a top-5 goalie in the regular season and playoffs in goals saved above average and Bennett is affordable and unique player. You also have to actually signed Gaudreau, and I doubt he signs with Washington.

Bob was good this year and I like Bennet a lot, but there is an extremely high chance that a team taking back Bob would have a 6-10m backup for 4 years (like FLA had two years ago). And while I don't see any reason WAS wouldn't be a great fit for Gaudreau if he leaves the Flames, its not actually a real choice between those two options but rather to demonstrate that there is a whole lot the caps or any team could do with that cap space so FLA needs to make taking Bob worth more than just spending the money in FA
