Think we just keep Cat at that. My expectation is a base of Holtz + 2OA. Cat is a sure thing and Hawks will want high end potential in return and those 2 pieces give CHI the best possible chance at that.

What I heard is Lebrun reports Hawks are looking for 4 quality 1st round assets. I think the Devils can get it for 3 including this year's pick.

Devils pass. There are a ton of good wingers available this year. They could probably do just as well moving half these assets.

None of them are Cat with the exception of Johnny Hockey who probably signs again in Calgary

There have been varying reports. A top draft pick, a top prospect + a young NHL player have all been mentioned and for me it would need to be that for us to really consider moving him. Hawks don't need to sell and won't be selling him cheaply.

Yeah I am not a fan of moving him. There’s a reason that 24 year old snipers averaging 30+ goals don’t get moved. I think if the Hawks move him, people will be shocked at the package they get. Kessel was moved back when he was -22 coming off a 30 goal season with a 19 and 11 goal season under his belt for 2 1st rounders and a second. The two firsts were picks 2 and 9. ADB at this point has more predictability then Kessel did then. My guess is it will take 4 premium assets for the Hawks to move him, high picks and prospects. That won’t get done on this site cause people love their prospects. The reality is someone will offer it up or he’ll be in Chicago next year.

Yep agreed. It will require what most will call an overpay. To get Hagel required an overpay, the same will be required for Cat (not the same price)

Sure all different types of wingers available. But also take into consideration the Devils needs, which is heavier play in front of net and in corners. So it’s unlikely DeBrincat is on their wish list anyway.

A Cat-to-NJD trade would be fun, and is perfect for ACGM. But it’s not really something I would expect our GM to be looking at.

Well the Hawks and Devils have been talking about Cat as per The Athletic. Also, you'd hope your center provides net front impact versus a winger. Cat does fine in the corners.

Its been all speculation and all based on some story a while ago that said NJD is looking to move #2 pick.
At a Fitzgerald media availability in early May, before the Lottery, he was asked if he would consider moving 1st round pick.
Fitzgerald gave a very GM-y answer, "would do anything that improves team"

NHL.com had sent an out-of-town reporter to cover the event and that was his takeaway. Here is the story

The news of the day should have been that Mukhamadullin got his visa and was reporting to Utica.
But the reporter, who didn't follow NJD, opted for this instead.

Now everyone speculates that NJD moves #2 for anyone.
Ignore it all until about 3 days before draft.
