Description
I think this is a Peter DeBoer team that probably makes it to either the 2nd round or WCF next season and gets better with time, as guys like Johnston, Stankoven, and Bourque move up to replace aging veterans and our current top young players reach their prime.

if the isles weren't willing to give suter that extra year last summer, idk why they'd suddenly be down to trade for it this summer.

Klingberg wants 8 x 8 to remain in Dallas, He's not taking less.

And Ryan Suter isn't waiving for the Isles either.

You read one article and think you know it all? He’s said several times since then he’s willing to negotiate. Dallas is holding firm on their best offer. I hope they stick to it too cuz he isn’t worth 7-8 million

You hit the nail on the things that need to happen in order to be competitive, and that's getting rid of underperforming contracts like Khudobin, Faksa, Suter and pay ideally with some draft picks.

I don't know if Isles would want Suter, but if there's a team that could be in play for him, it's them. If not, you can still buy him out and save 2.6M in cap space you can use for a guy like Ethan Bear.

Also Klingberg doesn't need 8 year contract. 7 year contract worth the same AAV is just about right for a guy like him.
