If Kylington will ‘cost a lot more’ then Flames should move on. $2.9 isn’t a ton for a guy who can play on all four lines if necessary, and will add some grit and scoring.

That deal would probably work but it would depend on what it costs to move on from Gardiner. Using Bear as the incentive for that in this situation.

Interesting Gardiner deal.
While Bear is not a top 4 RHD, he would be an inexpensive option.
Gardiner future is unknown but he has a solid resume and is ONLY 31 yo.

Canes aren’t doing that Flames trade. Necas for Mangiapane with picks to balance out, sure, but that trade doesn’t really work for the Canes.
