Not giving enough for Boeser, and also if he's signing for 6.5m I think that contract is already signed in Van and would be officialized once they can move cap.

Earlier I would have considered that an overpayment for Boeser, but with Smith’s poor play as of late I think that package is closer to fair value.
The problem is still the fit for Vancouver, not convinced Smith and Zacha fit the profile of what they’d be looking for at the moment.
Besides, there are numerous viable forward options for the Devils to pursue in FA. Any of Burakovsky, Nichushkin, Marchment etc would be a great get for the Devils.

From what I have seen/read out of Vancouver, it appears they are trying to trade Miller now and will extend Boeser.

Originally, I don't think this was a rumor coming from NJD side. Which is maybe why we haven't seen much lately on a VAN-NJD deal.

I agree with this. The price on almost any winger is way beyond my comfort zone.

(although if Fiala wants to be in NJD, that one is worth entertaining)
