What that is, is a trade the Canucks probably accept

Take out Knies and Holl and replace with Robertson and Kerfoot retain half of Miller's value. Then its a good trade. Knies is untouchable, looks like an absolute stud. Niemela also looks really good but I don't think he's needed.

Lol here comes the Canuck fans that think 1 year of Miller is worth McDavid level packages.

I would counter with Kerfoot, Robertson, and a 1st and a 2nd for Miller at 50%. However, I am sure you'll want Niemela instead of the 2nd.

You assume correctly, and I think your counter offer gets beat by other teams

Followed with the Laff fans that think they can use cap dumps to steal players.

Leaf proposals are quite amusing though .

Knies and Niemela are legit futures.....prob 2 of the best you are going to get as part of a larger pkg.

Vancouver simply doesn’t need Kerfoot. He is a rental and Vancouver is not a contender

Maybe but I doubt it will be more. What it will come down to, is how your GM values certain prospects. Robertson is high end, as is Niemela and a 1st for a rental is a major haul.

I don't think the Canucks regard Robertson as high end

I don't think that. But I don't think a 29 year old 1 year rental is worth several top prospects and 1st rounders. Or younger top end players with more term (the Nylander for Miller nonsense)

I know, I'm taking a wild guess, but due to the fact that Leafs fans seem to regard Robertson as more disposable than Knies and Niemela I believe is saying something

Then flip him at the deadline. Miller is also a rental. Anyone you trade him to is going to need to send a contract back to even the trade. Send him to someone needing depth for a 2nd. Or resign him to a 3x3.5 million deal or less and move Garland. It's an asset that has value. This isn't complicated

Its more about team need. I think Robertson is going to be a really good player but what he is, isn't needed in TO. However, Knies is 6'3", good speed and is physical. He's the power forward LW the team needs. Robertson would be great doing what Marner does but he won't get that chance in TO since they have Marner and Nylander who are just better. That's why he's rated higher

Trading to acquire Kerfoot unless he's a throw in to make the money work on a blockbuster trade would just be a waste of time for Vancouver

Fair, but that still doesn't mean I think Robertson should be the centerpiece of a Miller trade, and I don't think Canucks management would accept such a theoretical package with such a parameter

He's a throw in for Miller and essentially adds a 2nd to the deal

Nobody is paying a 2nd for Kerfoot, that's just not his market

A player who can play all the forward position, kills penalties, and can play anywhere in the lineup and scored nearly 50 5v5 points isn't worth a 2nd? Far lesser players have returned 1st rounders at the deadline. I have no idea why Canuck fans on here think all Leaf players suck. You all said Dermott was worthless and he is now a valued member of your team. Kerfoot is a good player. Whether you want to admit it or not.

I've explained it multiple times, Kerfoot is not a driver of offense, his 50 point season isn't sustainable. I never said Dermott was worthless. Kerfoot is a good player, but not worth a 2nd, and lesser players have NOT returned 1st rounders

Ben Chairot? Kerfoot may not pile on points without top end talent but even if he's just a 30-40 point forward who can play anywhere, kill penalties and play all 3 forward positions is definitely valuable. Lehkonen was traded for a 2nd and is comparable. Without question Kerfoot has good value. And Vancouver is going to have to take on salary when moving Miller regardless if who you trade him to. In many cases teams will try to send you a straight up cap dump because all contenders will be up against the cap.
