If it’s Nils, it’s gonna be a 1st. If it’s Schneider, then a 2nd is fine

I'll do a first if need be.

And the way these contracts are flying out, if Fiala got 8 as a winger, so will Dubois

Haven't heard anything but his stat line the past few seasons is 7x7 worthy.

Doesn’t matter. Centers are always more valuable. Wingers come easily. With him already expressing desire to test UFA market, any team who wants him locked up will need to pay 8

For that contract the Jets keep Dubois and they certainly won't give him away in a trade for nothing.

It’s not a big deal anyway, but he told Winnipeg he will head to UFA status for a reason.

Vatrano isn't going to sign for 1 million, he may take a 1 year 2 million dollar deal, but no way he takes that much of a discount. Plus the Rangers are apparently close to signing Motte, so not sure how we have room for PLD, Motte and Vatrano. Also Nemeth has an 8 team no trade, I'd be shocked if the Yotes aren't on that list.

Jets may be better off overpaying to keep him. If 8 and 64 doesn’t get it done maybe it’s worth it to go higher.

Might be. Time will tell but trading for him is certainly worth a call, even if it's for a 1-2 year rental type situation.

Contract wise he might, trade wise I don't understand how you'd discredit that return.

Yeah, they may not have a choice if he wants to go to UFA. He may just end up playing out his two years in Winnipeg and then the Jets would have to be the highest bidder to keep him.

He’s worth more cause Kakko hasn’t produced at nearly the same level

Definitely worth a call but Dubois isn’t going to be interested in playing somewhere else short term. Tbh, he’s been a pain in the a** his whole career in terms of arguing with coaches and starting beef with teammates so he’s not the type of guy whose open to a one year stop. He’s going to look out for himself, and rightfully so, and look to go somewhere he can play long term and get his desired contract

I’m saying maybe you have to go up to 72 or 80 million to lock him up this off season.

That may be possible if he is willing to sign now, but I don't think the Jets go that high.

He isn't worth more than $7M per, can't see him living up to an $8M aav, he's Ryan Johansen 2.0 if he gets $8M per.

Having said that I'd rather slightly overpay a top 6 forward than a bottom six guy.

Fiala is coming off an 85 point season.
