The Sens are in Session

Description
Now this is more of a brainstorming thing than a set in stone "this is what the sens must do."

7OA is spent on Lekkerimaki. Top 6 forward who can score. Has the size that Ottawa likes at 5'11. DeBrincat is just too expensive. I don't see Jiricek or Nemec falling to 7, so Lekkerimaki is my choice there.

Norris to a 7x7.5. Keep him here, that lines chemistry is good.
Brannstrom on a one year prove it deal. If he can't prove he's an NHL caliber dman, we replace him with JBD/Thomson next year.

Get the rights to Puljujarvi. He can play on the 3rd line RW.

I haven't the SLIGHTEST clue what Joseph and Formenton are worth, so i just threw a number there. They need to come back.

Let Mete walk, Get rid of Zaitsev's contract.

Now trading Connor Brown might not be popular, but we have a plethora of middle/bottom 6 guys. C.Brown might not even wanna return to Ottawa, so fill another need while we have him. I don't know if we go for Marino, considering what Brady did to him, but its an option.

I have Murray on LTIR. He might not go there. I just think with all the **** he's gone through, he might call it quits and ride out the contract.

Sanderson should be where Brannstrom is, and Vice-Versa. My bad.

Sens Will be really fun to watch this off-season, their prospect pool and cap space makes them a threat to have the best off-season in the league

I like the idea of Puljujarvi and Marino being added. Both seem like they were made for the Sens. As much as I like Lekkerimaki, I'd be shocked if the Sens don't draft a guy like Nazar

I am scared for my sanity if they go Gauthier at 7.

Gauthier at 7 would actually be a really great pick imo

Might be. I'm just not a fan of going with him.

I think you'd need to add a fair amount to the Sens side of that Marino trade...His value seems to be all over the place on here, but it's 1 year of Brown (who saw his numbers go back down closer to his career norms this year) and a 3rd for, as you said, a top 4 RD. He's absolutely a good guy to target for the Sens, I just think you're looking at a higher quality asset going the other way to get him.

Edit: I really don't think Pitt moves him anyway...after Letang, there's nothing really there for the Pens to absorb the rest of those minutes.

Like I said, just the groundworks. You can easily add a 5/6th to Pittsburgh's side and Ottawa adds JBD/Thomson

Same. he just screams Logan Brown 2.0... If the go with either Lekkerimaki or Kemell, I'd be super pleased.

I'd switch the contracts for Forms and MJ and give MJ a 2 year "prove it" deal. If we can max out the RFA status of Formenton by another year, I'd do it. If his hand catchup to his speed, he'll be worth a ton more. Norris is either getting a 3 year bridge or a 6-7 year deal just below Tkachuk on the pay scale. Hopefully he isn't a William Karlsson 2.0.

Brannstrom should get a 1 to 2 year deal. Value is Mete contract.

    As far as the trades:

I think Marino would be a good add on the top 4 side, specially if we can ship Zaitsev to the desert. JM wouldn't be my first choice on the backend but it'd be a good indication of improvement going forward. I think they would look for JBD/Thomson + 2nd or 3rd round pick for him though.

Edmonton would prefer a player coming back for JP. They aren't looking to rebuild anymore so trading CB to EDM for JP + mid round pick would make more sense. That being said, would much prefer just to keep CB... I think he's a guy you keep to make a run.

Sorry not Gauthier... Cutter Gauthier would be a great pick! I'm thinking of Geekie!

I'm fine with that for Marino.

Puljujarvi is valued at a 2nd or 3rd right now, so IDK why we'd give more than that.

I think we give Norris 7 years.

Forms and Joz i was unsure on what their contracts would be, but you have a fair point.

Branny can get a one year at 1.something.

Why do people seem to think Marino is available? The Pens have no one close to a top 4 RD to replace him in-org and might lose Letang on top of that. Just cause Vancouver asked on him for Boeser doesn't mean he's available for nothing trades like Connor Brown and a third
