Could see OTT giving up one of Grieg or Pinto, but not both.

Even while it answers their 2 key points of need? They still keep their nucleus up top and this improves them drastically immediately.

I mean there were some reports that suggested that they dropped out of Fiala sweepstakes since they weren't willing to pay him the sum LA was willing to...and DeBrincat is going to cost at least $9M in the future, likely more than that. Also I don't think Murphy is anything amazing really, even though there's a fit.

The cost is so hefty though - to me it seems like the cons outweigh the pros.

Valid explanation. I feel Philly is a likelier landing spot but always interested to see what other fanbases see on proposals.

Flyers definitely shouldn't do it given that they suck and should rebuild, but that doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things.

I agree but maybe we can take advantage as we have previously

I’m luke-warm for CBJ. Pass.

Barely enough for Cat. Not enough to include Murphy. Murray is nothing more than a $6.25mil x 2 year cap dump. That's A LOT of cap space. Not to mention, his actual salary is $7mil in 22-23 and $8mil in 23-24. The return would have to be a lot better to take Murray too. I set one up a while back that included a Murray dump, and it was met with a fairly positive response.

To OTT:
DeBrincat
Murphy

To CHI:
Murray or Zaitsev Cap Dump
Formenton
Pinto
JBD
2022 1st (OTT)
2023 1st (OTT) *Top 2 or 5 (debatably top 10) Protection

Id replace Formenton with Greig though I can see the OTT pulling the trigger on a move like this.

Yeah maybe. I'm not as high on Greig as most people. I think he tops out as a decent 3rd liner. But he does have possible upside beyond that. Formenton has legit top 6 potential and plays a style that seems to fit better with the plan.

I'm actively, uncompromisingly opposed. We don't have the sort of superstar winger necessary to make Strome effective, and even if we did said winger would do better alongside one of the guys we've already got (such as, say, Roz).
