What do you guys think is the latest the Pens sign Malkin and Letang. I think the fact they're not signed yet says a lot, and I think if we go past the draft without them being signed it's not looking as likely. What do you all think is the timetable.
JP Barry is in MTL, so he could be meeting face to face with Hextall? They get Letang done first then dominos fall?
Personally I think Letang get's signed this weekend and Malkin probably won't get signed. If Malkin is playing hardball I would get Rakell before it's too late then worry about the rest later.

The penguins haven’t talked to malkin much because they are prioritizing Letang. Once he signs, they will turn to him quickly
At the end of the day, I think Geno will take a deal because he loves it here. People have all mentioned his love for here.
Plus WSH is out now that Backstrom plans on returning this season
Maybe, but I don't think it's a given, I'd say 75% chance Letang is back 40% chance Geno is back. All the chatter was how Letang want's to be paid as much as possible and go to highest bidder while Malkin will take the discount. It's looking like the opposite now. I know Malkin said he'll take a discount, but he will have to take a pretty big one to return, probably around 3 mil. Who knows how big he was talking about. Letang if he stays will be giving a big discount given he could probably get 9-10 mil for 5 years in free agency.

I'm kind of hoping that with Geno, he makes it to free agency, finds out that no teams are willing to pay him what he wants for the ~50-60 games he is likely to play, then he comes running back to Hexy who signs him to a deal that most fans won't be comfortable with, but not so bad that it screws up the next few years.

I wouldn't mind that and I could see it happening. I would sign him at 5.5-6 for 2-3 years at most.
