Absolutely great move by AZ. To quote FunMustBeAlways “boneheaded” for SJ. If CBJ had made the same move, I wouldn’t be happy.

Fun fact about “some 1st round prospects will go in the 2nd” - it happens ever year. And unless every team decides to share its big-board, we’ll never know who each team projected where.

Maybe SJ sees Johnny McHockeySomething as a Top-5 OA player who will be available in the middle of the 2nd round. If so, good on them. Circle back in 2025 and we can discuss.

Mark it down in you calendar.

It will be worth the wait for you.

According to this draft pick value chart, the 3 picks going to San Jose add up to either 9th or 10th overall in value.

San Jose wins by a hair.

The 45th pick addition put it over the top according to Pronman. It was even when it was just 27 and 34.

Considering who SJ drafted I understand why they absolutely wanted to trade down, if he was the guy all along it's worth it.

Trade confirmed: Arizona Coyotes - San Jose Sharks

I said fair trade as Arizona has too many picks and needs quality while San Jose has been short on picks the last few drafts and have too many never will be's holding spots with the Barracudas and every injury there lack of depth really shows

Bystedt and Lund have both looked fantastic to start season. I'd call it a "W" for San Jose.
