I can guarantee you if Ottawa trades Murray it will be for a lot less than you think.

Leafs say hell no.

Arizona doesn't even answer the phone.

Zaitsev dump is about right, but probably not that expensive

From an unannounced trade that didn't even happen?

Also moving down from 7th to 16th is not a "top ten pick" its moving down 11 spots which is what Toronto did for Mrazek.

Yeah, this post was more about Giroux ,Norris, and Chychrun and I realized that the Sens can actually sign Giroux and Norris and trade for Chychrun and still be under the cap this year without trading away Murray and Zaitsev. But since the Sens seem to be hell-bent on trading Zaitsev and Toronto seems to be interested in Murray I attempted to make it work.

moving 11 spots into the top 10 is not the same thing as moving 11 spots into the mid 2nd round, and either way you have to pay to move Murray and a good asset too. You dont get assets for him

Leafs do not do that trade. Retain 50% add a 3rd or 4th. You certainly won't be getting Holl or any picks.

I view Holl as a negative to the Leafs so taking him is a favour for them.

holl is 4th defender and a decent one at that. so no, he's not a negative value. Murray on the other hand is a massive massive negative value

Toronto and Edmonton wouldnt take Murray unless a really good sweetener was coming back. Chicago might have been a team to keep an eye on but with the Keith retirement that ship is gone

Like there are better options to grab via FA or trade (Kuemper, Campbell, Gibson, Holtby, Comrie, Reimer, Talbot, Varlomov, Dreidger)

I feel Dorion should stop being stubborn and just buy him out
