Just a few thoughts:
-Why give up futures for 1 year of Kerfoot and Holl?
-Why give up anything for Zucker, who is clearly a cap dump for Pittsburgh.
-Why handcuff yourself with that Strome contract? I'm not saying he's *bad*, but his production is basically similar to Adam Henrique's, minus the good possession numbers.

Not a fan of the signings. Strome would not be bad for the first two years at best but then he is getting paid 6.5 to sit behind Zehra’s (who will likely be better than Strome this year) and McTavish. Perron could be good but he is 34 and 4 years is too much to give their highest AAV deal. Maybe 3 years but I would want to keep it at 2. The Cole signing is my least favorite. I like the aav for 2 years at most giving a 3rd pair d who is that old 6 years is not good. He will be blocking a roster spot and eating up way to much cap.

Pass on both trades along with each of the FA signings — we have no reason to be signing guys we don’t want/need in the future and just handcuff ourselves

Pens accept. And I do believe Zuckrr still has positive value. Injuries are tough and they change a players season very quickly

I'll add my voice to those of our fellow Anaheim and Pittsburgh fans. The Zucker trade favors Pittsburgh because there's no incentive for us to take on his cap hit for one year; we can use that roster slot to give playing time to the youngsters. (It won't be on the top line, by the way.) And it makes less than no sense for a team that won't sniff the playoffs this season like Anaheim to acquire rentals like Kerfoot and Holl even if they were free and not costing us futures (as tenuous as those futures may be). And I'm not a fan of any of the UFA signings, either. This isn't the year for us to be spending on guys who would help us in 2024-2025 but will be irrelevant for the next two campaigns.

Way too much money spent on forwards (Strome, Zucker, Perron, Kerfoot) and way too little spent on defense. Fowler is a top-4 and Drysdale is growing into a top-4 but every other guy on that roster is a 5-6 3rd pair guy at best.
