Pretty sure cbj will move on from Bean
CBJ needs to sign a RHD, Rutta or Manson would be perfect
Lindbohm is a solid defender who could replace Bean.
CBJ needs to trade at least one winger this offseason. I decided to trade two, Robinson and Bemström.

Main issue I see is Chinny on the 4th line.

A 1st round pick whose game is built around his shot should not be logging six minutes a night on the checking line. Send him to CLE.

I also see at least one of KJ or Marchenko spending some time in CLE. No need to rush them.

In that case, I don't trade Robinson. Him, Tex, and Kuraly were our most consistent and soundly productive line all last season. I'd be hesitant to break it up.

Marchenko would have to have some serious flaws in his game exposed during pre-season to be spending time in Cleveland. He's going into his d+4 year and he is the clear standout at development camp along with Jiricek from what I've been reading. The guy is ready for the NHL and we should all be expecting big things from him.

Maybe (hopefully), but my immediate concern is Chinny on the 4th line, and shipping out Robinson.

Point being, it’s the same song we’ve been singing all year - we got too many Fs, and too many Fs needing playing time. As long as guys like Chinny, KJ, and Marchy are waivers exempt, I feel CBJ should have no hesitation sending them up to CLE to get high-level minutes in.

Said it before, I’ll say it again - CBJ’s decision to *not* do that to Bems likely hurt his development, IMO, and put us in the position we are in with him now. I don’t want that for these youngsters.

My point though is that Marchenko is not a youngster in the same sense that the other guys are. He already has 3 years experience playing in a league that is better than the AHL. He's far more comparable to Texier than any of the other 23 and under players. For comparison, Vasili Podkolzin played 79 games last year and scored 26 points with the Canucks. Marchenko is entering the league 2 years older than Podkolzin was last year and he performed significantly better than Podkolzin with the same team in the KHL. There's no rushing involved with expecting him to be an impactful player in the NHL this year. Get hyped!

I’m fine with shipping out ERob if the return is decent, but not to put Chinny on the 4th line. He will have an uphill battle to make the team out of camp. IMO he’s the most likely to start in Cleveland and come up when there are injuries. Marchenko is definitely good enough to make the team and KJ is right there too.

I still think losing Robinson and Bemstrom would be a serious mistake. Don't get tied up in "identify and remove the Odd Man Out" thinking; that's how teams get ripped off.
