Burn it to the Ground

Created by: FlameOn
Team: 2022-23 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 13, 2022
Published: Jul. 13, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
With Johnny gone it’s very unlikely this team stays competitive enough to do any sort of damage. If there was ever a time to rebuild, it is now. Get the most you can for guys like Tkachuk after career years. Take bad contracts from teams that are cap strapped while accumulating picks.

Rough couple years ahead but in the end it would be worth it. Let’s go.

Backlund(C) Coleman(A) and Hanafin(A) become the new leadership group.

Potential to gain additional assets at the deadline for acquired pending UFA’s in JVR, Smith, Gardiner and Holden.

That Tkachuck trade proposal is like shooting yourself in the foot. Don’t be like plaxico burress.

I like the idea of the Flames rebuilding but I don't see the Flames rebuilding till next year due to Sutter being our head coach

See that’s what I thought at first too, but if anything I’d love to have Sutter shape these top young players to start their careers.

If they trade Tarasenko, they do...I don't know why some Blues fans continue to make this argument...They'd rather have a guy that wants to be here and loves it here than someone who doesn't...

But all the rumors point to Tarasenko not being traded so far

Tarasenko hasn't rescinded his trade request. The team that misses out on Johnny G - Isles, Devils, or Flyers will probably come calling. The Blues also now have 8 NHL dmen - Parayko, Krug, Faulk, Leddy, Mikkola, Scandella, Perrunovich, Bortuzzo. Someone is going somewhere.

I really do think they are going to make a play for Tkachuk but I don't know anything. Just know that Armstrong always has something else planned. I was super disappointed in our offseason in 2018, and then we traded for ROR that night...
