Yes they do over three firsts for one guy not worth it. Keep Kyrou and Jake N, Doesn’t look like CGY can keep him long term so wait til FA

Doubt the Blues would want to trade these 3 firsts but I can see Neighbours and a 1st included in the deal along with Barbashev

How many pints has Barbashev gotten? Unproven Neighbors and unproven late 1st round pick vs . How many pts Chucky? Chucky personality!! Yeah - sticking with a Kyrou as a base min that The starting point, 1st in 2023 is a must and the prospect can be negotiated.

You say not worth it but he would be the best Blues player since Hull...Neighbors is decent but he's not an allstar. He'll be a middle six player. He's also from Calgary so they could sell that.

Kyrou is going to have to go in the trade from a Calgary perspective. They could not afford Tkachuk, ROR, Thomas, and Kyrou the following year. And yes - I would rather keep ROR than Kyrou. If Tkachuk goes to market, he'll get Marner and Matthews money...Blues won't do that. But if extend him, think would be under $10m

If Tkachuk is willing to sign an extension in Calgary then Calgary aren't trading him.

If he isn't willing to sign an extension in Calgary, then that basically means he's one year away from UFA... so he's not returning Kyrou++.

Blues need to get younger and faster. No offense to ROR but he's not that. I dont mind keeping him as long as it's 5 mil or less but anything over is too much. I think Neighbours has to be in the trade along with a first. But don't think trading Kyrou is the answer.
Then again Armstrong thinks that Leddy is a long term answer so who knows, he might sign ROR to a ridiculous contract and trade kyrou.

If you trade for him now - can give him 8 years. If he becomes available, Doug will pay the price to secure him…

It's amazing to me after seeing Colorado that the Blues have made the moves they have thus far. If Tarasenko is indeed traded, they should just kiss this year goodbye.

When I watch Colorado, Toronto, Tampa, and Vancouver play the Note, it always seems like the opponents are skating figures of eight around the Blues. Yes, they don't always beat the Blues, but our lack of speed is clearly visible. The league is moving towards that, and it smells like Army is willing to trade the fastest skater in the league to bring in an average-skating Matt Tkachuk??? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have MT, but I'd like to see him on a line with Thomas and Kyrou. I don't mind letting Perron go, although he's a legacy Blue in my mind. The Greiss signing????? Was Army drinking heavily when he decided he was "the guy" as a backup? He had to be drunk. Or high. Or sniffing glue. Or a combination of those. Perhaps all three. And WTH is signing Leddy when you already have Scandella on the team?? That's two boat anchors.

The only way I see this turning positive is to move Krug and letting Perunovich man the power play. I suppose Leddy becomes your top LHD?? Scary thought. If he can move Scandy, even better, but you just open up another hole on an already weak LHD. What do you do with ROR? One last year, but the defense we're running out there as of now makes me think the Note is wasting his last year. If that's the case, why not move him? Before teh NYR signed Trocheck, they would've jumped on him immediatelyand they have sound prospects. I want us to compete for the Cup, but this ain't it.

Agreed man. It's scary when you look at other teams then look at the Blues. And no offense to Thomas, but he hasn't earned that contract yet. It's one of those it will either be really good or really bad.
Greiss I feel is a stop-gap between Hofer and Binnington. But why not just sign Lindgren who would cost less and was great for the Blues when they needed him last year? Makes no sense. At least Husso was capable of being a 1b, Greiss was never a number 1.
I really don't know what we're doing with this defense. The problem with getting rid of Krug is he's the best offensive d we have. As good as Perunovich looked, the guy is made of glass seemingly so I don't think trading Krug and replacing with Perunovich is a great idea. But why on earth would we not give Perron 4.75 and instead sign Leddy? It makes no sense given Scandella. I dont know if Army is prepared to have a bad season in hopes of Michkov (since the Blues won't be bad enough to get Bedard) or what the deal is with that.
Word is they still want to trade Tarasenko but now that Carolina just got Pacioretty and a RD for the great potential of "future considerations", don't think they become suitors anymore (unless Army trades Tarasenko for Pacioretty which would be horrible). I really don't know what to make of this franchise right now. They need a massive retool, but Army seems to be moving backwards, not forwards.

To be honest, I'm not sure Army knows what direction he's going or wants to go,and I don't say that tongue-in-cheek. I suspect he has gotten himself into a pickle and he's unsure of what to do. He has many players from a team that could have just played for another Cup. He's given out some boneheaded contracts in the past, and his pride leads him to want to "prove everyone wrong" by continuing to run them out on the ice. Yet, he knows he is in cap trouble and both his pride and the pushback he'd probably receive if he would start trading guys like ROR, Parayko, etc. would be enormous...much of it rightfully so. I also suspect he had a plan or two worked out behind the scenes, perhaps with other teams, and it all went south at the same time. Now he's left holding the bag.
