If I were the Flames GM - New Look
So... two first line wingers, a top-pairing defensemen and a first round pick? If I was the Blues GM, I'd block your number.
It's bizarre that people seem to think the Flames have a lot of leverage here.

Getting Tarasenko At 50 from Calgary Would Require Hextall To Trade a 1st
I think other teams offer more than just a 1st for Tarasenko at $3.75m.

Him agreeing to a sign and trade, or on the assumption that he'll sign with the team he's traded to, doesn't mean Calgary can expect full value. They don't have leverage to command that.
I mean, we'll likely find out soon enough what he goes for, but I'm expecting a lot of angry Calgary fans based on the stuff getting thrown around.

3 way trade
So the Blues give up Tarasenko, Kyrou, Neighbours & a 1st for a player who is demanding a trade or he walks as an UFA next summer? Two players coming off PPG seasons, an NHL-ready prospect with good upside and a 1st?
Safe to say that's an easy pass.

Too much from the Blues.
You also can't have pick clauses that are dependent on players re-signing.

Hilariously terrible for the Blues.
You're not getting a PPG 24 year old winger who is under team control, a recent first round pick and two firsts for a guy who is basically demanding a trade or he'll walk as a UFA next summer.

Calgary
Blues pass on that very easily.
Unless Calgary get a deal done before arbitration then Tkachuk is a UFA in a year. There is a ticking clock for Calgary to either trade or sign him long-term, and reports are that the latter isn't happening. There is little incentive for the Blues to give up Kyrou++.

His cap hit was $3.2m on his last deal. While the structure meant that he had a particularly low QO, I doubt that arbitration is going to be giving him ~$2m. Seravelli seems to think it will be in the $3m-$3.5m range if they can't get something worked out before arbitration.

The value isn't terrible for Barbashev, but I can't see the Blues taking a more expensive middle-6 player in return.

If he isn't willing to sign an extension in Calgary, then that basically means he's one year away from UFA... so he's not returning Kyrou++.

Realistic Tkachuk Trade
The only way the Flames are trading Tkachuk is if he isn't willing to sign a long term extension. If that's the case, he'll likely go to arbitration and take the one year deal that takes him to UFA. No point in moving Kyrou for that.
If the Flames believe he's willing to sign then they don't entertain that offer.

The Blues don't need to trade Tarasenko. It's that simple.
We're looking to win now. There's absolutely no reason to take a massive downgrade to a 45 point winger for the sake of getting a second rounder.

Couple Seattle Moves To Push For Playoffs
I wouldn't be interested in Donskoi coming to the Blues.
Winterton & the 2023 SEA first? I'd probably do that if it was offered today, but I doubt SEA would. From the Blues perspective it opens up a lot of cap space to look at a short term replacement in UFA, Winterton had a great year in the OHL and looks like a really promising prospect and the 1st could easily be a lottery pick.

I think it's safe to say that the Blues aren't trading Tarasenko for a borderline 2nd/3rd pairing LHD who was getting scratched towards the end of the season. Never mind retaining on him to get such a haul.

Keeping Pietrangelo
Armstrong has moved on from Pietrangelo. He just doesn't want to give the media the soundbite that says he is the one that moved on, because it isn't an accurate reflection on how it played out. If Pietrangelo calls and says he wants to come back? Sure, Armstrong will be interested and try and find a way to make it work. Otherwise... everything he said suggested the Blues moved on on Thursday night and there is no offer on the table.
Newport wouldn't even tell Dunn that offer has been made. Given the fact he has no arbitration rights, you might be able to strongarm him into taking a one year deal at under $2m, but not multiple years. The signs seem to point to Dunn being traded.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Duggysdanglers</b></div><div>There’s a chap in St Louis by the name of Vince Dunn. Needs a new deal. It’ll cost a few dollars. The Blues are already over the cap.</div></div>
There was a rumour in St. Louis a couple of months ago that Steen's career was done because of injury. When Armstrong was talking about the Krug signing on Friday, he said that Steen has an injury that is not progressing and because of this we won't need to make any moves to be cap compliant next season. So it looks like he is LTIRetired and that would give us just under $5m in space after Kyrou takes his roster spot.
As for Dunn... it looks very unlikely he'll be back. He'll be traded and Mikkola will be on the roster.
I just don't see us moving Bozak unless we're targeting a big signing.

What about a bigger deal? Debrusk/Urho/2nd for Schwarz and Dunn. Just spitballing. I know Blues would like to extend JS, this would give them some cap relief and long term security though.</div></div>
There was a rumour at the end of the season that Steen had an injury and his career was done. Armstrong said after the Krug signing that Steen has an injury that isn't progressing and we don't need to make any moves to be cap compliant. So the assumption just now is that after Kyrou replaces Steen on the roster, then the Blues have just shy of $5m in space with the Dunn roster spot open.
I can't see Schwartz being moved. The fact that he left Newport recently suggests that he wants a smooth contract negotiation with the Blues, and avoid the constant issues that Armstrong has with Newport.
I could see Armstrong targeting a deal around DeBrusk and Dunn with smaller makeweights, but that would rely on the rumours of Boston being open to moving DeBrusk being true. I don't watch enough of them to accurately say what would be fair in terms of makeweights.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>So what would you be looking for?</div></div>
Before the draft I'd have thought we'd be looking for a pick and a forward prospect. Whether the pick is a first or second would depend on how good the prospect is. Maybe a first and Frederic, but I don't know how highly rated he is in your system at this point.
Since the draft is done, I think a deal involving a first probably becomes less likely in the short term.
While we don't have to trade Dunn, we have the cap space to keep him without an issue... he's wiped his social media of any references to the Blues. I'm guessing that we're trying to find the best offer just now.

We don't need more LHD prospects, particuarly ones that don't have a high ceiling.
A first from pretty much any other team is going to be a more attractive offer.

Armstrong talked about Steen not progressing and the Blues not needing to make any moves to be cap compliant. Sounds like Steen is LTIRetired, so that would mean the Blues have about $5m in cap space.
