There isn't any reason for Carolina to consider that.
You're a year short on the Pietrangelo offer as well.

My take
I can't see us moving Bozak, unless we're targeting another big piece. Armstrong said last night that Steen isn't progressing and will be on LTIR next season, and there isn't any need to make a move to be cap compliant.

Buyouts
The buyout period is over, so that isn't something to think about.
Also, Armstrong said that Steen isn't progressing and looks to be going on LTIR and that we won't need to make any moves to be cap copliant next season. So we're probably sitting with $5.5m in cap space for next season at the moment.

No cap cause krug
Doug Armstrong said last night that Steen has injury issues and we won't need to make any moves to be cap compliant, so I'd assume that Steen is not coming back. So we've got over $5.5m in LTIR space for next season, plus start the season with another $7.5m because of the Tarasenko injury.
I do think that we'd listen to offers on Dunn though. I doubt we'd have any interest in a LHD D prospect though.

Figured a deal that provided a puck moving Defensemen and Cap space would be enticing.</div></div>
We have Krug and Faulk, we aren't giving another PMD $5m+. It also sounded like Steen is LTIRetired from what Doug Armstrong said last night, so we are comfortable when it comes to cap space.
Plus, ADA is one of the few players in the League that I would never want near the Blues.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Breadmanhawks</b></div><div>What do you think the Blues' ask would be for Dunn? Not from a Rangers point of view, just in general?</div></div>
Depends who's asking. Probably a 1st & a low ceiling, high floor type of prospect from playoff teams. From worse teams it would probably have to revolve around a better prospect because their 1st would be too valuable.

Maybe the league lets Columbus slide as though he's 25. If not, I could see them trading him with retention, rather than carrying 2/3 his salary as cap hit for six years.</div></div>
He's treated as 25 for the purposes of the buyout because he would have been 25 during what should have been the original buyout windows.

Pietrangelo
The Blues aren't trading the rights to Pietrangelo for a third. Certainly not to a division rival.
Very little incentive for Pietrangelo to take a $24m contract when he can get $64m. The extra $40m security is much better than the higher AAV.

Only the Blues can sign Pietrangelo for eight years. Trading for his rights doesn't change that.
A trade for Pietrangelo just doesn't seem realistic, more something for the media to speculate about to drum up interest in what they're peddling.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boomer125</b></div><div>It's not , but go ahead debate away, AP is a Fantastic player but he is offensive , Paryako and Bouwmeester did all the shut down work played all the top line minutes did all the heavy lifting</div></div>
Pietrangelo is more than capable defensively, the fact that Parayko does the heavy lifting isn't some kind of message that Pietrangelo isn't able to do that... it's about using players where we can get the most from them overall. Pietrangelo was fine when he was doing more of the heavy lifting when it was Shattenkirk on the second pairing.

I doubt that the Leafs would have much trouble moving Kerfoot, but it wouldn't be to the Blues. We have plenty of centre depth.
I know that Markström was looking for a deal starting with a six, but if he gets there then I can't see it being more than $6m. That Lehner deal is probably going to pull him back into the $5.5m-$6m range.

I can't see any scenario where Pietrangelo is leaving $64m on the table to sign for $52.5m. Yes, Vegas has tax advantages... but they aren't as extreme as the headline rates suggest. Would be surprised if Thornton & Ryan signed at League minimum as well.
Stastny has a 10 team NTC... that can be used to basically block out any teams that could afford to take his $6.5m cap hit without sending anything back. He's a centre though, so who knows what the interest would be like.

Rumors are like assh*les everyone ass one bud but what’s funny is Armstrong isn’t stupid this isn’t JR. Cap Casualties dUnN aNd PaRaYkO because they are the best players so they have to trade them no way around it when Bozak can just as easily be moved and Allen already moved. Dunn is an easy signing teams would have to massively overpay a contract for a team like St.Louis to take Compensation instead. And Blues aren’t having it lmao. Think of him as a cap casualty all you want but Blues aren’t f*cking r*tarded.</div></div>
Nowhere did I say that they'd move him for spare parts, and I wouldn't take that offer from the OP.
You want to pump his advanced stats? He gets bottom pairing minutes for us and our left side isn't anything special. He's fifth in EV TOI and he doesn't PK. His advanced stats are a result of his usage, putting him in the same sentence as the likes of Seth Jones and Zach Werenski is beyond delusional. "i'M nOt SaYiNg He'S bEtTeR" is no doubt your response, but you're desperately trying to put him in that group. Even in the playoffs, Dunn was sixth in TOI per game for our defenseman. Yeah, he's young and has room to grow... but the left side has had opportunity for him to take and he hasn't been able to earn that trust.
As a Blues fan I don't want to lose Dunn, he's a good player. I'm just not arrogant enough to talk in absolutes about players of his level. If we get offered a mid-first in this draft, with a plus, then Armstrong is unquestionably entertaining that offer. We have some prospect depth at LHD with Mikkola and Perunovich, there are several reasons it could make sense.

That swap could make sense.
Steen might waive for Winnipeg and the amount owed on his contract is lower than Perreault, which might work for the Jets. The Blues get a lower cap hit, and a better year 1 buyout number if they went that route.
Doubt we'll see it, but it is something that could make sense for both sides.

Dunn has no arbitration rights.
I also wouldn't be so certain that the Blues wouldn't entertain moving Dunn, regardless of what the advanced stats say.

There are tax advantages in Nevada, but when someone is getting a $60m+ contract they are getting expert tax advice on ways to limit their tax liability. They aren't paying the headline rates that you see in other markets.

$9m for six years is $54m, not $63m. Pietrangelo isn't signing for $54m when he has a $64m offer on the table. You can't give him $45m in signing bonuses in the first three years because of contract structure rules. The player isn't likely to want massive money up front because the players are certain to lose 30% of their salary next year, he'd probably want it structured so that the big money starts year three, when escrow is capped at 10%.

The Blues are set in goal with Binnington & Husso. They'll add another veteran goalie in UFA to push Husso, but it's his spot to lose. No chance they'll be giving up picks for DeSmith.

We seen an AHL calibre player in Marc Staal get moved for a 2021 second. Absolutely no need to be moving a first to move a decent third line centre, who's likely the player we look to move.
Again, it's largely pointless for the Blues to move Steen and Bozak. The cap will be flat in 2021/22, and the Blues need to give a number of players extensions... so it's not like we can rush out and spend all that $10m on long term deals for players, it would need to be one year deals. We've just moved our futures, so we're not going to be getting rentals. I don't see the high impact FA's taking one year deals. The Blues need to move one of Steen or Bozak, not both.
But, feel free to act condescending when you have no idea of the market or the Blues cap/roster situation.
It all meaningless anyway... not a chance in hell either player waives for Ottawa.
