A middle six forward on a different continent, an aging player and a 2nd don’t sniff Meier my guy

No way this is enough considering he's only 25 and was 1 point off PPG last season. I think CBJ is in a position to contend and Meier would help, but I think it would cost them a "Blue chip" prospect like Jiricek or Johnson which kinda seems unlikely to me. Personally, I think the conversation starts at something like one for one with Silinger or Ceulemans plus a pick

He was in dev camp a few days ago and is staying in Columbus now permanently.

Marchenko is very much a blue chip guy and easily their most NHL ready prospect. That being said, there's no way they consider trading him considering he's now just months away from his debut after they waited 4 years for him and he's moving his wife to Columbus too within a couple weeks.

He’s still a middle six winger, if he makes it in the nhl, and there’s practically a $5 mil cap dump involved. It’s not close. That would be like trading Liane for Kevin labanc, and average prospect and a 2nd. Doesn’t really seem close right?

No, he's a top 6 expected kind of guy. Think in the realm of Podkolzin only with better numbers in the KHL. He's a stud and also not in the realm of being traded considering they've waited 4 years for him to finally be free of his contract.

I wasn’t aware he was in the us now. If he was playing in Russia who knows if he would have been able or willing to come over. Either way, San Jose doesn’t consider it.
