Potential Tarasenko destinations

Created by: Chopper02

Initial Creation Date: Jul. 14, 2022

Description
Given Carolina's trade for Pacioretty and Burns, I dont see Carolina being in on Tarasenko anymore. Which leaves teams like Philly, Islanders, even New Jersey (if they want to compete) as potential trade partners. Anyone else have a thought (assuming Tarasenko is dealt). Since Army signed Leddy, it's safe to say we won't be getting a LD

Devils do that without the conditions on the deal.

Unfortunately, I dont see that happening without the potential for a 1st rounder coming back. To be honest, this is probably underselling Tarasenko a little bit, but only a few teams can take him at this point.

Yea, honestly don't see as a fit at this point. Don't think it's his dream destination to be playing in Jersey so he likely walks after this year. Without an extension, I think the Devils probably offer less than what you've posted here.

My thinking is, Blues ask for Holtz and a 1st (with a Tarasenko extension and NJ rejects). Devils come back with a less than stellar offer and this is somewhere in the middle. All depends on his NTC.

Given Lou and Armstrong are both massively drunk this offseason, anything is possible

I think NYI says yes, but I'd rather not give up Beau. Would the Blues do Panik, Bolduc, NYI 1st, and a 2nd in either 2023 or 2024?

Isles aren’t giving up a first for Tarasenko after what Vegas did yesterday. In my opinion the deal would probably be Beau and a 2nd for Tarasenko or it won’t happen. Especially considering Tarasenko has control over where he lands.

No to Panik and the Blues have enough LD in their pipeline so that wouldn't get it done. Simon Holmstrom and a 1st would be a great base for a trade though. I'd like Raty but don't think Islanders want to move him yet.

Vegas had a lot less flexibility than the Blues. Blues don't have to trade Tarasenko even though they should at this point.

Panik would be $250K against your cap and was already assigned the Blues affiliate. He'd be pretty much inconsequential. But I get it.

Holmstrom and a 1st is something NYI would definitely do, in my opinion. Raty and Dufour are untouchable from a prospect perspective.

Bellows, Holmstrom, and a 1st for Tarasenko at 50%, or Beau, Holmstrom, 2nd for Tarasenko at full salary.

I agree in terms of cap flexibility. And I also know that Vegas ****ed up. But I think if Lou was willing to move draft picks and a young player in a deal it would’ve happened by now. I think he’s only willing to do one or the other

I’m not convinced Lou is looking to move a good young player, a prospect and a high draft pick for an expiring winger. If that were the case I feel like this deal would’ve happened by now.

Blues won't retain 50% unless they can broker a 3rd team to take some in which case I can see it.

Holtz and a 1st? Are u nuts? Ur not getting Holtz for a 30 year old. Holtz is top 20 prospect in league and we’re adding a 1st? Devils don’t even give u a first alone for him. He’s one bad fall on his shoulder away from retirement so I wouldn’t take my chances there

Tarasenko is easily worth a first on his own. His performance and shoulder issues are no longer an issue. That's also why I said NJ rejects the offer because it has no shot at happening then they negotiate downwards. Didn't say Tarasenko is worth Holtz and a 1st.

Exactly. Pretty sure he played like 5th most games on the team and took plenty of shots and gave plenty in that time. Dudes a stud and if there isn't a worthwhile package just let him walk or trade at deadline.
