He’s not a bad player by any means but he’s too one dimensional for the money he’s going to get. Big player who plays small, doesn’t drive play well and is a net negative on defense. I would rather let Wahlstrom continue to develop, because it seems like he has the potential to do all of those things better than Laine, if he doesn’t already. He’s also going to cost significantly less for years to come

No it’s really not. Laine is the one of the most overrated players in the league. He doesn’t drive offense and he’s one of the worst defensive forwards in the league. Just has a great shot, that’s it.

Wahlstroms skillset meshes better with Barzal than Laine’d would. You have to contribute more to the game than just your shot
