Reality for some jets fans

Created by: SMH
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 15, 2022
Published: Jul. 15, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not a aingle team will trade for PLD since they can speak with his agent and they all hear the same thing "he won't sign more than a 2 year deal to take him to free agency" so his value in a trade is significantly lower

Montreal won't sacrifice any future since they can get him for free in 2 years when they'll be ready to compete again, they also must free cap if they dream of being able to afford him, if the jets insist i can see montreal add a 2024 2nd at best (still unlikely) and if you're not happy with this retuen you can definitely keep him for 2 more years and get a 1st for him in 2 years at the deadline

For that package they could play him for two years and lose him for nothing, still don’t have to trade him, bottom out rebuild, even a rental copp got more than that, but that did have a possibility of signing in ny as a ufa. Even holding the cards there still has to be something shiny to get it down.

Read the description, I'm clearly saying jets should just keep him for 2 years

Montreal fans need to face reality. There is simply no reason for Chevy to trade Dubois for garbage.

Habs fans may fantasize that they have all the leverage and this is the only possible outcome, but they are 100% undoubtedly wrong.

The % of jets fans coming up with PLD trades to MTL is way higher then habs fans coming up with PLd trades

We can't afford him and we don't need him (that's how habs fans feel)

Lol. Yeah, you go and count them. There are maybe 4 or 5 that have been started by Jets fans. So most Montreal fans posting here don't agree with you.

So why wouldn’t a team like Boston say, buy him for a two year rental or Washington or any team relatively close to there end of there window. Possibly Pittsburgh and then try to change his mind and consider Pittsburgh the greatest thing since sliced bread. Your concept is flawed, the reason nothing has been done in general, is quite possibly the jets not sure of there own direction or goal in returns.

Well, that's a possibility too, but go see what his agent said this week

His agent quite possibly the biggest idiot in the league, what if Montreal doesn’t need or want him in two years, quite a competitive business, the same leverage that he gave away from the jets, also gave away from his client. Random thought what if Montreal wins the lottery and gets bedard next year, mtl comes out low balling his client, who is coming to the rescue, karma is undefeated and rather physical game, never know what is coming in the great game of hockey.

Dubois should take a page from Tavares agent, get him home and get him top dollar. Will be interesting how it all ends.

Habs have dach to develop in the next 2 years and if by the time he's 23 and didn't pan out they'll get PLD for free

To be honest, the only way dach develops is if they get him out of the Center and get him the ovechkin/stamkos/laine spot on pp, and take away some of his defensive responsibilities and hopefully let him loose as a sniper, could be a rather lethal pp, with Caufield on the other side. I still think Dubois is the perfect 1a or 1b to Suzuki. Dvorak was coming around with the coaching change also, so some solid things ahead.

Keep in mind there are some of us Habs fans who don’t fantasize anything as we saw him be a steaming pile of hot garbage against us when we swept ya. Just saying.

Yet here you and other Montreal fans are, begging for that same player.

I know some Montreal fans are huge fans of small sample sizes to make their players look better, so it doesn't surprise me that you would try to use 4 games to try and devalue a player.

Where on the other hand jet fans can evaluate the Montreal players over a large sample size and see that:

Armia is an outright cap dump.
Poehling is waiver fodder and
Dvorak is a marginal, overpaid 3C who has never scored more than 38 points.

Just saying.

Not my post nor have I ever put together a trade proposal for PLD.
Just saying.
