The amount of people on this site that don't understand that an RFA can sign a contract instead of taking their qualifying offer is astonishing

Detroit does not now, nor ever, want:
Kerfoot, Holl or Muzzin, regardless of cost.

Detroit declines. Yzerman signed Copp, Perron and Kubalik. No need for Kerfoot.

cause no one is giving him 10 per and he would be looking more for term 8-8.5 for 7/8 years.

Why would he reject a lucrative 8 year deal worth 8.5m per year and instead take 10m for one year?

$10 mil for one year with a possibility of not performing, guaranteed $60 mil+ on an 8 year deal...hmmm I wonder

He would get more if he becomes a Free Agent than 8M AAV for sure.
Take the 10M 1 year and if he isn’t qualified, choose where you wanna play

There are zero guarantees he makes that money. He could have an off year, or god for bid get hurt, and miss out on a ton of money. Living in San Jose isn’t the worst thing in the world.
