Description

Move Muzzin out for futures to create cap space. Go through the season with more than 20 players on the roster for most of the year and give guys rest, while still building cap space. Then use those assets you got to fill a need when you have cap space at the deadline and way more draft capital than their rivals (even without these moves, Leafs have 3 picks in the first two rounds of the next two drafts, Tampa and Florida only have 1 2nd each..
Word is Sandin wants more term and money than Liljegren.
Engvall buys one year of UFA.

Do the kings actually have a need for muzzin? No. They have D corps for the future and muzzin is basically just dead cap for them. And they are already strapped on cap with 80m being tied up. The need for muzzin isn’t there and neither is the want.

We have 5 defensemen under contract including Alex Edler, who had a better year than Jake Muzzin and whose cap hit is $750,000, plus RFAs Mikey Anderson and Sean Durzi, so we have neither the roster space nor the cap room for Jake Muzzin.

Calgary seems set on the left side, I can see them moving on from Kylington but the cap becomes an issue and the Leafs need a RD preferably a RH one. I don;t think Muzzin is going anywhere, perhaps Holl gets traded for a cheaper RHD, and Kerfoot could go too but I can see them going into the season with him if they can find the cap to sign Engvall and Sandin if they do keep them.
