Now buyout Byron and make one more trade. I’d prefer to move Hoffman but that may prove difficult.

Dadanov isn’t worth a second even with retention. Not the way the forward market has played out this off-season. Trading Hoffman probably costs more given the fact Luke Tuch hasn’t done much at the NCAA level.

You can waive hoffman for free, he'll get picked up

Shattenkirk have a NTC in his contract and i'm sure he will not lift them for Montreal.

I did consider this. I’m going on the off chance he agreed to it until the deadline and then we would trade him wherever he wanted. It’d be difficult though that’s for sure.

I’ve thought of that option too

You realize Dadonov put up nearly identical numbers to Rickard Rakell who just got re-signed for $5,000,000.
Are you sure that Dadonov half retained isn't worth a 2nd to a contending team like Washington?
If a contender can add a 20 goal scoring winger to their 3rd line at a cap hit of $2.5M, seems like a good deal for the price of a late 2nd round pick.

I could c it at the deadline. The issue here is Dadanov’s salary is higher than his cap hit. Also you have to remember that the forward market has been weird recently.

Yes I completely agree with you the market has been weird.
Ilya Mikheyev signed for $4.75M
Dylan Strome signed for $3.5M
Ondrej Palat signed for $6M
Frank Vatrano signed for $3.65M
I can go on but a lot of 3rd line players who are hovering around the 20 goal mark have been signed recently for way more than $2.5M
A very weird market indeed

Trade doesn't make any sense for Anaheim. Moving Shattenkirk now creates an even bigger hole on the right side, they would need to find two RHD then instead of just the one they need now.

The prospect seems pretty meh and a mid round pick isn't very valuable.

Lastly, Anaheim is still needing to spend money to get to the floor. An even money swap like this one doesn't get them any closer.

We certainly can add a contract into that trade
