There's no fit for Brännström in NJ, he'd very likely just get waived. I also don't think Severson will get moved until the deadline unless it makes the team better.

Marino just went for Smith and a 3rd, pretty disappointing return for the most valuable asset in hockey. Honestly you could make the argument that there was a surplus in Pittsburgh and that devalued the asset as well, which is exactly what I'm saying here. On top of that Marino is signed at a very reasonable 4.4m with term attached as well. Theres no way Severson gets a better return than Marino did. (Didnt even mention that the top RD on the market still hasnt signed his big money deal.)

Severson is coming off a season where he was on the decline, hes on the last year of his deal so youre potentially just paying for a rental. Someone like Formenton shouldnt even be considered as part of the return.
