They have Deangelo, Risto, and Ellis on the right side already. Even if he beat them out, it’d be silly to spend that much cap on RD, they’re already spending too much.

True but that doesn't mean he's just gonna get fleeced by everyone. And apparently there were multiple teams offering 1sts for Risto, so Fletcher isn't the only dumb one, just the only dumb one to win.

Dont use one ****ty trade to rationalize another one.

Assume every GM is rational, even if their most recent trade doesnt indicate so.

Otherwise, ACGMS just devolve into fleeces of the same teams because why not put in stupid EA NHL Franchise mode ****.

Holden is a solid 3rd pairing Dman who logs a lot of PK minutes. That said he is not worth a 2nd round pick to the Sabres with his expiring contract and being 35 years old. You might be able to garner something for him at the TDL from a team looking to add depth to their defense, but that's not Buffalo.
