Too much from St. Louis. Kyrou is near enough on his own.

I’d offer Barbashev, Perunovich, 1st and conditional 2nd which turns into 3rd based on Tkachuk performing this season in STL. That way you’re still getting a really solid return but you’re not breaking the bank either for the Blues.

Kyrou will be part of it because they can’t extend him with Tkachuk. They can’t afford Tkachuk without moving a big contract hence Tarasenko waiving so he can be moved to NYI

Why would you wait to trade Lindholm et al? He is more valuable now and Bedard is this year. Tank

In addition to the questions above. Why is St Louis inevitable now?

God that St. Louis offer is just terrible. How is a Tkachuk trade inevitable, because a few random people in cap friendly are trading for him?

This is false. Blues have a lot of cap coming off the books next season. And Kyrou is still signed for relatively cheap for this year. If we can move Tarasenko and Scandella that's enough right there for Tkatchuk.

Moving forward, Blues would likely have to trade or let Barbashev walk, and maybe even consider moving Saad or Krug in order to lock down Kyrou next year (should they also get Tkatchuk).

Barring any trades next year for the Blues, they’d ultimately decide on keeping ROR and Kyrou and even though he’s our captain, I’d keep the young gun.

Tkachuk rumors are always hype, I think he’ll get the 1 year $9M deal and then go on the market.

Same. Teams aren’t stupid enough to pay a ton for him when they could just wait 1 year. I will be shocked if Tkachuk signs long term in Calgary

They won’t be bad enough to get Bedard. That needed to be the plan LAST year when we should have traded Johnny

THIS. This is the point I've been making. It doesn't seem reasonable to keep both. Unless Schenn drops off a cliff and you actually NEED O'Reilly.

This is why i think Tkachuk will only garner maybe the value of 2 first round picks. Maybe a bit more if it's a sign and trade. CGY barely has a lot less leverage than most people think.

This trade offer is WAAYYYYY too much. Bolduc and a first or Kyrou and a second.

Personally I think that Doug will wait to sign Tkachuk next summer.

That’s ridiculous. We aren’t making the same mistake twice

It’s literally reported almost everywhere at this point that STL is trying to trade for him. One of your writers from The Athletic already reported it

They will be if you trade Tkachuk, Lindholm, Hanafin, etc. If you aren't going to compete this is the year to tank. Fantili and mitchkov are the runners up and are just as worth it

Yeah I’m waiting to see the 1 year alert and we move Scandella and Saad next offseason to sign Tkachuk

Yeah I completely agree here. Kyrou is more detrimental to the future. If Saad is moveable then we keep ROR

No they can for sure. Kyrou getting a Svech style deal will keep them in a good spot ($7.75M AAV x 8 years). Blues won’t offer more than $9.5M AAV for Tkachuk
