Can only speculate on the details but I do think a 3way where the return for Tarasenko is passed along to CGY makes a ton of sense. Reminds me of the Duchene trade. Tarasenko probably the only cap hit on the Blues that would waive his NTC, so that's a factor.

Skipping the rest for now, why is Seattle paying for Lucic?

Tarasenko and Mikkola will be traded for FC’s lol. I’m half joking but that package is horrendous for NY. Tarasenko isn’t a kid anymore. Nobody will trade that much for a 31 year old. At least nobody who is going to keep their job.

Dude they want a good young player, a first in a very deep draft class and a 2nd in that same class. This is garbage. He’s 31 and has a full NTC. They have 0 leverage and if STL thinks we r gonna pick up the bill for half of the Tkachuck trade they r beyond delusional.

So Blues get Tkachuk, Dube and a 2nd for Kyrou, Tarasenko, 1st and 4th? I’m down with that.

It's at half his salary though. Allows Lou cap space to get another piece if needed. He's still over a point a game player!

Look at what Pacioretty got. The value just isn’t there. Isles have no reason to overpay for a thirty one year old winger who could enter a steep decline at any second. Not saying he will decline, but it’s a possibility given his age.
