FOUR 1st rounders and two 2nd's? Uhhh no. Calgary has little leverage here.

If you're not uncomfortable with your offer chances are it's not enough. Tkachuk is a top 10 player in the league and he's 25. They aren't going to give him away

Tkachuk proceeds to regress back to his pre 2022 numbers which were wildly consistent and you end up with a big bodied 2nd liner, no future and a massive cap dump in 5 years from now.

Yup. People are getting delusional about what Tkachuk actually is and what they should be willing to trade to get him. Great player no doubt but people are definitely getting carried away.

Nobody said anything about giving him away. And let's not pretend Calgary has much leverage at all. He's not getting 4 1sts ++ from any team, least of all the Blues.

I've heard the price will be around what Jack Eichel commanded:
decent roster player
Good prospect
a 1st and a 2nd

Buchnevich, kyrou are better than Tuch
Maybe this:
Kyrou/Buchnevich
Perunovich
2024 1st round pick

There's no way the Devils are giving up Shakir for a rental.

I'm not saying I wouldn't take it in the final analysis, but I'd sure as hell be haggling the **** out of it. Calgary would need to drag me there screaming. They have only minimal leverage right now. And if Tarasenko (or Krug or Schenn, whatever) suddenly gets dealt, they are next to screwed.

The prices look right to be (as a fan with no horse in this race). Maybe a little heavy on the StL side but not by a ton.
Calgary has plenty of leverage. 31 teams worth of leverage.
He might regress or he might score 50 goals and 120 points. Who knows?
I will say this has my biggest pet peeve. 22 players and no cap space. A recipe for disaster.
Also, Jesse will want more than 2MM. You'd need to give him at least 3.5MM. So it would be him or Barb.
