    1. Scandella, Marco
    2. 2024 3rd round pick (STL)
    Additional Details:
Highly unlikely Scandella has his hometown listed on his 7-team no trade list. MTL is in need of an NHL caliber defenseman on the left side this year and the UFA market is running pretty thin at this point. I think Scandeezy fits in well with that group.

No one cry cap in the comments, please. Price is destined for LTIR, unfortunately. C'est la vie.

    2. Bellows, Kieffer [RFA Rights]
    3. 2023 3rd round pick (NYI)
    4. 2024 1st round pick (NYI)
    Additional Details:
All this shit is headed to Calgary. Well, other than the '23 3rd rounder. Just predictable asset management by recouping a pick for the one lost by shedding Scandella's contract.
    NYI
    1. Tarasenko, Vladimir
    Additional Details:
First and foremost; thank you for your services to the organization, and all those tucks over the years, Vladi. We'll always have 2019!

The Isles finally get an elite goal scorer for Barzal, while simultaneously shedding Bailey's contract. This is likely a cheaper cost than it would be to acquire JT Miller.

The Isles likely prefer Miller over Tarasenko, but the rumor could be true that Lou is holding a grudge against VAN for leaking the deets of a Miller trade on draft night. Classic Lamoriello.

Nonetheless, Vladi isn't waiving for Calgary or some other shit hole team. NYI is a good team despite last year's results. Welcome to the island, Vova.

If this doesn't land Matthew, trade him to the Thrashers. His Daddy played there too.

Montreal has Eddy, Mattheson and Harris/Guhle/Norlinder/Schueneman all fighting for the 3 LD spot. They don't need an NHL caliber LD on the 3rd pairing they need to let the rookies fight it out.

Mtl already have Edmundson and Matheson on the left side. Guhle, Harris and Xehkaj all have a shot. There no need for another left Handed defenseman having term left after this season.

Okay, well that trade literally anywhere else in the league then. AZ, SEA, whatever.

The goal is to land Tkachuk and not be overbid by our central rivals in DAL, NSH, etc.

Dallas can't even begin to afford him unless they trade Robertson in the deal. So that pretty much solves that. I'm also highly skeptical that Nashville can put together a worthy offer. I'm not really worried about them. I'm much more concerned with what Jersey might offer.

How do you feel about the price FLA paid?

On straight hockey talent today, Calgary got a ton for him. But hoooooly crap are they taking a huge gamble because if Hubes and/or Weegar up and walk next summer, the Flames will have played themselves HARD. But there's also another issue, which is Florida now needing to clear a few million in cap and everyone knows it. That could get somewhat painful and must be added into the equation.

Long story short, I'm not sure we know yet how smart it was. For either team.
