That Jake Muzzin trade is terrible for Anaheim. The second deal seems ok, but the ducks may hold out for more anyway.

Honestly i’d guess the Ottawa pick would be very close to the Boston one so it’s basically Muzz for a 7th which makes sense but at the same time
If i was Toronto looking at Anaheims cap space (30+ mil) I’d ask for Henrique 50% instead of the 2nd then throw in a 4th them trade Kerfoot for a 2nd to replace the one we gave up

Anaheim isn’t going to swap a second round pick for a third round pick to ADD Jake Muzzin. The deal is terrible value for Anaheim and they wouldn’t do it. The Henrique trade idea isn’t any better for them. It’s gonna cost a 2nd to dump Muzzin and even more if you want Henrique back at 50% retained.

Ducks can and should get a lot more for taking on Hornquist. The market for taking on Patches, a top line goal scoring winger with a 7 mil salary, was an NHL ready 3rd pie D man on an ELC and Bjorkstrand, a top 6 wing on a great contract for 4 more years, was had for a 3rd and 4th.

    I think you’re looking at the 2022 2nd minimum.

Ducks have 30 million in Cap Space & need to hit the ceiling the deal makes perfect logical sense for both teams, Leafs pay a 2nd. Ducks get a serviceable LD & hit the cap ceiling while off loading Henrique & getting a 3rd for retention makes perfect sense

That’s literally not true lol. Makes no sense for the ducks to do Toronto a favor in order to get to the cap floor. Someone will give them real assets to take on bad salary. Anaheim does not have to make this kind of move lol.

I meant 2023 2nd but that’s about it. They probably need to take salary back in the form of a D man to get him off the books.

I wouldn’t accept either trade as the Ducks, Muzzin needs more coming in with him along with Hornqvist

    while off loading Henrique

The whole idea you have there falls apart because the Ducks don't need nor want to off load Henrique.

    I see 0 reason to keep Henrique when you can get a servicable D-man a 2nd & a 3rd

Leafs jump on this, hold it down so it can't get up, then run away as quick as they can and never look back.
