If you think that it would be better to have Ehlers than Nelson, then I guarantee you that Winnipeg does, too. And Bellows doesn't alter the equation.

Not true. Pierre luc dubois wants OUT of wpg. He signed a one year deal with them, to get out as soon as possible. If Winnipeg gets Nelson, they get him for 3 years. No more drama. They can trade Dubois.

You want to sign a 32 year old to a five year deal at 7.5 million dollars? I’d like to add Ehlers but that deal won’t fix their issues long term.

Hah. Would love that. Just think he wants to go only to Montreal. But who knows, maybe he's just miserable in Winnipeg.

so make it 4x$7m but stop acting like this would be a major set back between him and Nelson. Both are excellent 2C. I don’t want Nelson going anywhere but he is literally the best offensive trade candidate we have besides barzal.

Well, then, that's an argument for trading Nelson for Dubois, isn't it? It has nothing whatsoever to do with Ehlers, who's more valuable than either one of them.

Kadri had great numbers on a great team. He can’t and won’t put up those numbers again so stop pretending you know more than me. You are wrong. Let it go.

Kadri wouldn’t sign that contract and Winnipeg wouldn’t make that trade. But even if they would this would go very poorly for the isles in the long term. You don’t seem to understand that getting older is a bad thing for a team in the National Hockey League. But I guess you named yourself after one of the worst GM’s in the league for a reason.

Lol what. “Getting older is a bad thing”. You do realize i proposed trading a 31 year old Nelson for a 26 year old ehlers. Literally getting younger. Would gladly swap that with Pierre luc Dubois (24 years old).

As for Kadri coming in, he’s only going to be 1 year older than Brock when the season starts.

You’re not making any sense.

I’m not asking Kadri to put up 80+ points again. I’m asking him to match or beat Brock Nelson’s output for the next few years so that Brock can become immediately expendable to allow Lou to get a strong winger of either ehlers or Dubois, both of whom are 5-7 years *Younger* than Brock.

Yes, I’m willing to see Lou pay Kadri $1-1.5m more per season than Brock’s $6m/per, to match the same output as Brock, IF IT MEANT getting ehlers or Dubois on the wing

Nelson was drafted in 2010 and Ehlers was drafted in 2014 btw. The gap isn’t huge tbh given the fact Nelson is a center.
