All depends on that defense. I am a Jackets fan and I don’t trust it. Maybe it works. Guess we’ll see. I don’t see a playoff team compared to the rest of the east.

As for the actual AGM:

Love the idea of a line of Voracek with the kids. Honestly, I like all four lines. We already know that combo works for the fourth, and I agree jenner gets first crack at 1C.

It needs to be a consideration that adding a dominant top line player like Gaudreau boosts the entire team's defensive outlook by creating easier matchups for everyone else. The Jackets can roll out what they were playing as their top line for segments of last year as a 2nd line this season. That's a significant improvement on it's own for the puck possession element of the game. Not to mention what was their third line for large parts of last year is also now going to be their 4th line. They're also insulated from the group of AHL players they had to deploy last year by Danforth, Johnson, Chinakhov, Foudy and Bemstrom before they get to the likes of TFW, Gaunce and Meyer. They've also got their 6th dman position covered by Gudbranson, Blankenburg and maybe Jiricek later in the year if he plays in the AHL. This almost certainly eliminates the scenario they had last year where they had to play 2 of Bayreuther, Carlsson, Kukan and Christiansen at times. The defense is going to be better.
