I certainly wouldn't. Weegar would get a far better return at the deadline
Normally, I would agree, but 2023 is supposedly a deep draft year. One for the books (2003)... If the flames can stock their cupboards and have two depth players for a UFA, I would be inclined to take it

I wouldn't be against flipping Weegar but Holl and Kerfoot dont move the needle that much. We would end up flipping them for picks too and wouldn't get much. Weegar is good enough to get a first and a legit prospect.

Well im very confident that Weegar easily returns a 2023 1st+ at the deadline. That is why I dont like the trade. Weegar gets a lot of hate for a few small mistakes in the playoffs but he is criminally underrated
With Mikey Anderson and Sean Durzi to re-sign (giving us 7 defensemen) and 15 forwards under contract already (including the just-re-signed Gabe Vilardi), any trades from this point on will have to be at least cap-neutral and roster-neutral for Los Angeles, and this one is neither. The only Muzzin trades that work numerically are Muzzin with 50% retention for Sean Walker or Muzzin with retention for Alex Iafallo and Toronto's 2023 first-round draft pick.
