I know we in a dull next 6 weeks til traverse city so these ideas are gonna be posted for fun but I don't see the current team changing at all unless we get a great offer for an upgrade. Feel like our forwards are set minus maybe shipping one more out, and we already added to the D corps and I feel like it really compliments all pairs strengths.

Werenski - Gudbranson : Offensive power with a good defensive Dman and Gudbranson fixes Zach's flaws on the Defensive end from what I have read.

Gavi - Boqvist : Great defensive Dman and great potential offensive dman in Adam, a perfect pair

Bean - Peeke: and again a offensive minded dman in Bean who maybe can make a jump this year to prove more and a good shot blocker and defensive dman in Peeke solidifying a decent bottom pair.

Really think we don't need to add anyone else and just see how this team gels for now.

Chinny and Blanks probs get moved to Cleveland (waivers exempt) and get called up to play if any injuries happen. Have some amazing depth IMO, best in years, with players like Danforth and Bemstrom who can come into the lineup and play anywhere in the bottom six and play very well. While players like Gus who can play middle 6 and play a ton of minutes very well and reliably.

Have a feeling Marchenko catches the league by surprise and goes off this season and starts the season in the top 6. Same with Tex proving himself on a contract year.

Should be a very fun season and it cant come soon enough.

What CBJ prospects are playing in that?

I know Kent and Cole are not but maybe Jiricek, Mateychuk, Svozil, Ceulemans, Del Bel Belluz? Lots of defensive prospects

KJ actually said he expects to be playing in it during a short interview from dev camp.

The Sillinger, Johnson, Voracek line reminds me of the old Dano, Wennberg, Hartnell line.

Johnson and Sillinger are at Canada’s summer camp and will likely play for team Canada, Cuelemans is also there.

Juricik, Svozil and Kanzko should also be representing their country’s.

I have been a huge Marchenko fan since they drafted him so I’m with you on your thinking with him. I could see him scoring in the 25-25-50 range this year. In my mind he’s Bjorkstand with a bigger body and faster wheels.

IMO, it will come down to how much ice time Lars gives him. If he gets the typical 10-13 mins a night that CBJ rookies tend to get then I don't think he has much of a chance. If he is given a PP role and 15-17 mins a night I think he has a fantastic shot at the Calder. I'm very interested in a Gaudreau-Laine-Werenski-Jenner-Marchenko PP1 unit that has Marchenko in Bjorkstrand's old spot around the hash marks. Marchenko as a right shot could get some wicked chances from the slot if Gaudreau is on the right wing boards running the PP.

It can't get here soon enough. I was already so excited for how this off-season would shape the Jackets future and then Gaudreau absolutely blew my already lofty expectations for dramatic happenings away.
