You want the Ducks to eat 13 millions AAV, all with multiple years of term on it?

I would only consider accepting that if it came with your 2023 1st, Cole Perfetti, Rutger McGroaty, Chaz Lucius, and Ville Heinola

You can have one of those as a sweetener, not all five

that isn't enough for Chychrun and the Jets aren't moving Perfetti for Miller who likely wouldn't sign an extension

We'll take Ekman-Larsson for your 2023 first. The rest of it is either speculative or unwanted.

In today's cap space market all five is a lot closer to the value than you think. The two VAN forwards are together almost 6m for two years, so those guys are two 1st round caliber assets. Then you look at the horrible, horrible Ekman-Larsson contract with five years of term. I'm not touch that for less than three 1st round assets if Voracek was reported to be two.

It's all speculation because none of it will happen. Vancouver is stuck with OEL for sure and might have to keep both forwards.

Those contracts tie my hands for the next two years guaranteed, when I have young talent needing big paydays in Drysdale, Zegras, Comtois, and Terry. Furthermore, that locks me into 5 years of OEL, and he hits his 33-34 season right as we are starting to get competitive, so I am stuck with 3 seasons of paying him a huge amount of money and hoping he doesn't **** the bed.

Even with a reasonable dollar extension, Miller isn't worth that much.

In case you didn't know, OEL is still a productive player, he's not some dead weight contract. Now that you guys signed Klingberg, it doesn't make sense, but before that, you guys had a shallower left side on the blueline than you did on the right side

Pearson isn't a cap dump, so they won't pay anything to trade him. If Van is stuck with OEL, they'll make do with that. The contract doesn't even look that bad after the season he just had. His contract didn't even make the honorable mentions list for top 10 worst outstanding contracts. Also, three 1sts, let a lone two 1sts is an absurd overpay to dump Voracek

He is, now, I have serious doubts he will be by the time the Ducks are in a position to use his talents. Taking on the other two eats ice time from kids that need it to continue their development. This deal would set the ducks back 3-4 years in the rebuild process and take us right back to where we were 3 years ago, perpetual fringe playoff competitor with no hope of a deep run, but spending everything to try and keep the window open. If we had let Vegas take the guy we wanted and started the rebuild then, we would still have Shea Theodore and would probably be exiting our rebuild by now instead of stuck in the middle of it.

Only way I sink my team like that is with a guaranteed future.

OEL isn't a dead weight contract, what part of that don't you understand? He's still a productive player. We don't know what his regression will look like or at what rate it will progress
