Why? Kerfoot is an extra body we just don't need. We can't afford that cap hit without retention either. If Toronto retained it down so the hits were idential, maybe? But then I don't see much of a reason for Toronto to do it.

Oh, and LA aren't moving Anderson.

We've budgeted $2.5 million for Mikey Anderson, and although that's a tempting trade offer, we need him too much. He's our best LD right now.

LA much more likely to move a righty like Walker, and as mentioned Kerfoot at 3.5 really puts a strain on the rest of the roster since you are moving two defenseman out in this equation (Gardiner and Bear). I do think Kerfoot be a good fit at 3LW however, but that deal would have to be cost neutral at worst.
